Our love story began in Concord, California on September 3rd, 2017.  I, Perla, was there for the weekend to visit Diane, one of my best friends.  Little did I know that Steven, one of Diane's roommates at the time, would eventually steal my heart.

That weekend, Steven and his roommates hosted a barbecue.  He must have subconsciously known that the way to my heart is  through my stomach because the food he made that night definitely caught my attention.  Aside from the amazing food, Steven and I engaged in great conversation, friendly banter, and a late night rap session.

Unfortunately, the night eventually came to a close and I had to drive back to my home town the next day.  However, Steven and I were able to stay connected after our fun night in Concord, and a few months later, Steven packed his bags and moved to Reno to cook for me on a regular basis.

A year later, Steven took me to Maui, Hawaii for the first time, and that's when he popped the question.  I replied with lots of happy tears at first, but eventually, I managed to say "yes".  

 

The following year, we eloped in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada.  Our elopement was a magical experience, but now we are ready to celebrate with friends and family by cruising through the Mexican Riviera, and we couldn't be more excited.
